She gently pulled him away, watching his face as his quickened breathing caused his chest to expand and contract rapidly.
"Xan, please, I'm sorry. I never should've let it go this far. I won't sleep with someone I don't know. I admit I'm attracted to you, but my head isn't in a good place right. Can you forgive me?"
He looked at her eyes, seeing for the first time some of what she kept hidden. What, the hell, could she have gone through to ever look like that? Not realizing how accurate, his thoughts were, he tenderly pulled her top down then cupped her face.
"Buffy, I started this, I should apologize to you. But, it's your fault, you shouldn't look, smell and taste so damn delicious."
He smiled at her, Buffy couldn't stop herself from returning the smile.
"How about we get out of here? I'll take you to get something to eat then maybe take a ride and get to know each other. We can run the sims tomorrow."
Buffy felt torn. Should she go with him? Was she setting herself up once again for heartache and betrayal? Xander waited for her to make a decision, hoping not to be shot down.
"Okay, but I take my own car. And, I leave when I want, deal?" She put her hand out for him to shake. He took her hand but pulled her close so their noses touched. His tongue teased her lips, as his deep voice seemed to make them vibrate. "Deal. Now, let's blow this joint before Gibbons catches us."
Picking her up, he gently placed her on the ground.
They sat put the guns she had used into baskets for cleaning.
" Wait here a sec , I need to grab my bag."
Buffy took off at a fast jog down the hall to the dressing room. She grabbed her bag then hurried back to Xander. His eyes widened when he saw the size of her duffel bag.
"Wow, I know women carry lots lot of stuff, but isn't that overdoing it a bit?"
Buffy sent him her death glare (slightly below her patented Slayer glare) and tossed the bad straight at him. He caught it with an 'oomph' and took several steps back to keep from falling down.
"Damn woman, what do you have in here?"
The predatory smile that spread across her face, almost had Xander wishing he hadn't asked.
"Open it and see. Those are my kind of toys."
Sitting the duffel bag down, Xander unzipped it. Buffy reached inside to grab some yoga pants, which she pulled on over her workout shorts. She watched Xander explore her weapons. He looked like a little boy on Christmas Day.
Xander couldn't believe what he found. Knives in several different shape and sized, one long beautiful sword, two shorter ones, a crossbow, a small ax and a staff.
"I already knew I never wanted to piss you off but now I'm absofreakinlutly sure. Alright, Buffy Lee, lets go eat," he said with a mischievous smile.
Buffy followed Xander to a pizza place on the outside of LA. She was beginning to wonder where, the hell, they were going, when they finally stopped - forty-five minutes later. He walked over to her car to help her out; putting a hand on the small of her back, they walked inside. It seemed as if everyone there knew him. Xander led her over to a booth and waited for her to slide in then moved next to her. His large frame took up most of the seat as his thigh pressed next to hers.
The waitress came over with a big smile to take their drink order. "Hey X, how's it going? Sure got a pretty one with you today. You let me know if he doesn't behave, darling, and ole Mary will take care of him for you."
Buffy smiled at the friendly waitress. "I'll keep that in mind. Can I have water with lemon, please?"
Mary smiled at the pretty blonde. "You can have anything you want, honey." She wasn't Xander's usual type; maybe the boy was finally learning what to look for. Especially, after that last one, I knew she was no good for my boy.
Xander pulled Mary in for a hug. "When are you going to leave Tom and run away with me, Mary?"
She smacked his hand. "You couldn't keep up with me, boy. Now, do you want your usual? What about your sweet little girl here, what's she going to want to eat?"
"Do you have Hawaiian Delight?"
Mary laughed. "Sorry, honey, we just make real old fashioned pies here. If there's a meat you like or peppers, onions, mushrooms, we serve it here."
Buffy looked at Xander. "I'll have what he's having." Mary nodded walking away with a sassy wiggle. "I like your friend, she's nice."
Xander smiled looking over at the waitress who was teasing someone else now. "Yeah, Mary's great. I've known her my whole life."
As soon as Mary left, Xander's friends crowded around their table. Buffy caught a few names, but the only ones she could remember were Paulie, his best friend, and Marcie, his agent. Marcie kept sending Buffy looks that would make any other person shiver. Buffy returned her stare then added a little ice of her own. The other woman visibly paled and looked away.
Xander leaned over to whisper in Buffy's ear. "I don't think any woman has ever made Marcie back down, go tiger." He nipped her ear, Buffy shivered from the caress and his deep gravely voice hummed through her body. They had a nice time laughing and joking with his friends and the pizza was excellent.
He kept his hand on her thigh, while his thumb constantly moving in a circle. Buffy felt as if he was burning a hole in her skin. When it was finally time to leave, she felt like she was crawling out of her skin. Walking to her car Xander pulled her close with an arm around her waist.
Buffy turned to lean on the door. "I think I'm ready to call it a day. Thanks for the pizza, it was great. My treat next time."
Putting an arm on either side of her, he leaned his body into hers. "There will be a next time, right?"
Buffy touched his cheek, looking into his eyes she nodded. He leaned in further to press her against the car door, while he ravished her mouth. She arched up against him to give him free reign as he sucked on her tongue, pulling a groan from her throat. Xander pulled his head back but kept his body pressed to hers.
He put his lips to her ear as he huskily whispered. "I've wanted you since I first saw you, not just because you're beautiful, you're definitely that. No, something inside of me recognized you. Whatever it is about you, I intend to find out what it is and explore it until we both explode. Once you know me, trust me and let me in, I'm going to savor every inch of you. I'm going to make love to you with my hands, mouth and my body."
Buffy felt herself respond to his body and his voice. That voice was lethal; she looked under her lashes at him then decided to fight fire with fire.
"If I ever let you get that far, I hope you can handle it. You should be careful what you wish for, Xan. You see, I have muscles in places you've never experienced with any woman." She heard his breath hitch. "Oh, but Xan, that isn't even the half of it."
Her voice dropped lower, huskier and her eyes rose to look at him. "I could ride you till you begged me to stop then pray I won't. You see, Xan, be very careful that you know exactly what you're getting yourself into. Make sure you can handle exactly what gets let out of its cage."
Xander thought for the first time since he was a teenager he might have an accident right there in his pants. Damn, he wasn't sure he could let her get in her car and drive away. He wanted nothing more than to pull her into the backseat this very minute. Knowing that would only send her running, he leaned his forehead to hers.
"I've been warned fair and square. Buffy, you should watch one of my videos. You'd realize I live for the extreme. Babe, I gotta tell you that I have a feeling you're about to redefine that word for me." He gave her a quick kiss then opened her door. "I'll see you tomorrow."
Buffy slid behind the wheel and drove away.
The next two weeks were intensive for Buffy. After the second day, she completed all the physical testing and training. Then she started learning how to place listening devices and work the equipment. There was computer training, plus learning where the other sires were around the country. She was surprised at how much she enjoyed learning all this information and skills. School had been such a horrible place for her, after she was called, that Buffy began to believe she wasn't very smart. She knew as far as fighting went she was very smart. It probably didn't help having a best friend with a genius IQ.
Buffy went out with Xander two to three times a week and they saw each other every day at work. She had to admit there was a lot more to him than what you saw on the surface. She could see why he made such a good agent. With his muscular body, not to mention the tattoos that decorated his arms and neck, people underestimated his intelligence. Buffy was used to the same thing because of her size as she knew what an advantage it gave you. Her attraction to him only deepened the more she learned about him. Xander pursued her with a determination that had to be admired.
They were sitting in Gibbons office waiting for him, not sure, what this was all about. "Are we still on for tomorrow. You're not going to chicken out, are you?" His voice held a teasing challenge.
"Yes, we are, and no, I'm not."
Gibbons walked in the door and his face was grim but his eyes blazed with anger. "You two are going to need to be ready to ship out. Seems some asshole got his hands on a B-bomb." Buffy's eyes asked the question before she could saw a word. "It's an atomic bomb that's capable of a precise explosion circumference. Unlike a regular nuke, you don't have the fall out. This bomb has the capability to take out a city the size of LA and not touch any other nearby cities. You'll be going to Switzerland. Your bios are in here. Summers, I hope you don't mind going as XXX's lover. We need you tow together as a couple. The man you will be after is one Hans Cristoff. He is reported to be huge in arms dealing but has never been caught. Living in Switzerland there is no extradition. We just need you to find the bomb and deactivate it, barring that we have to find out who purchased it and stop it on that end."
"What kind of clothes are we going to need, and I don't have a passport."
Gibbons handed her a packet with all of her identification. "We have taken care of all the paperwork that had you listed as dead. There is no trace left. Anybody looks you up; you are just a college student with a semi-famous boyfriend."
"Hey, I'm not semi anything." Xander gave a fake growl.
"Yeah, yeah, I know the Xander Zone. That's what you are going to be doing there. Looking for a location for you next video. Cristoff is a celeb groupie, but only allows couple into his home. He has a mistress of whom he is exceedingly possessive and she is just as bad if not worse than he is. Your clothes will be waiting for you, so you only need to pack your essentials."
Buffy crossed her arms giving him a stubborn glare. "Look, I don't mind the job but I'm not leaving on a trip without knowing what I'm taking. You just have them unpack those bags so I can see if I'd even wear what they chose." Her voice left no room for discussion.
"Summers, are you under the assumption I work for you?" Gibbons snapped back.
"Are you under one that assumes I won't walk away if you piss me off enough?"
Remembering how he was even able to recruit her, he nodded. "XXX can show you where they hold all the prep for a mission." They got up to leave. "Summers, don't think that will always work. I won't give in every time."
"Just as long as you realize the same, Gibb, I can deal. Question is, can you?"
Once the door was closed, he gave them enough time to get down the hall. The smile that crossed his face after they left erupted into full-blown laughter. Down the hall, Buffy smiled. "What's put that smiled on you face, babe?"
"Just excited about the mission, I guess."
He gave her a sexy grin. "So, you can't wait to be alone in a hotel room with me?"
Buffy ignored him as she kept walking. Xander grabbed her hand pulling her into a darkened room.
"Xan, what are you doing?"
Her answer was a breath-taking kiss. Pushing her body against the door, he ground his hips into hers.
"I know I can't wait, see."
His hips moved against her as his hands moved to unbutton her shirt. When he felt her bare skin, he thought he might explode right there. Their intimacy seemed to grow stronger every time they were alone. Buffy's hand moved to his pants popping the snap as she pulled the zipper down. True to her word, she had shown him how powerful her hands were, and he was about to find out the truth about another muscle. He wondered which one she would share with him this time. It didn't matter to him. Xander knew he was in for another wild ride.
Pushing him back, Buffy slid to her knees, his breath hitched in anticipation. Pushing his pants out of her way, she stroked him. His eyes closed as he drank in the sensations of the pleasure he was receiving. Xander felt as if he was engulfed in flames from the heat of her mouth. Buffy never allowed her movements to form any pattern.
Xander pleaded in a voice so deep with need that it seemed to make the floor vibrate. "Buffy, babe, please."
That was all she needed to hear as she applied those extra muscles to good use.
"Don't stop whatever the hell you're doing, don't stop."
He pulled her up off the floor into his arms. "Now it's your turn."
Buffy caught her breath reluctantly pulling him away from him. "We have to go, Xan, remember the mission. We'll have more time once we get to Switzerland."
"Fine, then listen to what I'm going to do to you."
Leaning close to her, he whispered in her ear. She was ready to say screw Switzerland and throw him to the floor.
"You're going to pay for that, Xan."
She placed his hand inside her pants. His fingers curled into her.
"You're going to have to think about me like this the entire time we're traveling. Exactly how long does it take to get there from here?"
Buffy slipped away from his questing fingers to hurriedly button her shirt and duck out the door. Xander brought his fingers to his mouth sucking in her taste.
"Damn, I'm in trouble. Wonder if they have cold showers on International flights."
Fixing his own clothes, he jogged to catch up to Buffy.
